Refurb Firm Charged in CWA Case
November 19, 2004 — BEF Corp. and its founder and president were each
charged with allegedly violating the Clean Water Act by discharging
silver-laden and acidic wastewater into sewers operated by the City of
Bethlehem, Pa., and the City of Allentown, Pa.

EPA, LA Agree
ovember 18, 2004 — State and federal environmental agencies announced
an agreement today with Dow Chemical Company to ensure the water source
for Plaquemine, La., remains protected from contamination found in the
ground-water north of the city.

Free Pollution Prevention Workshop
September 23, 2004 — The National Center for Remanufacturing and
Resource Recovery (NC3R) at Rochester Institute of Technology will be
conducting a workshop on pollution prevention (P2) and a demonstration
of a tunnel washer.

EPA Targets Anodizers
August 18, 2004 — The U.S. EPA established a docket potentially
regulating facilities engaged in hard chromium electroplating,
decorative chromium electroplating, and chromium anodizing of metal or
plastic parts.

Kentucky Green
August 17, 2004 — According to an article in the Kentucky Post,
certain Northern Kentucky businesses would be required to use more
environmentally friendly products under Kentucky's plan to rid the
region of tailpipe tests.

Call for NACEPT Nominations
June 17, 2004 — The Environmental Protection Agency is calling for
nominations to fill vacancies on its National Advisory Council for
Environmental Policy and Technology (NACEPT).
