White House Poised to Roll Back Pollution Restrictions for Ethanol Production - The Environmental Protection Agency has sent to the White House Office of Management and Budget a regulatory proposal that would increase the amount of air pollution that ethanol production plants are allowed to emit. The proposal originated at the White House, e-mails show, and the White House claims authority under an off-the-record process to approve most federal regulations.
