Al Gore's $638 Million capitalizing on hysteria...

gore.jpgGeneration Investment Management has closed $638Million in initial funding for its Climate Solutions Fund. The company is chaired by former vice president Al Gore and serves to be a leader in investing in biofuels and biomass; and the carbon trading markets. According to the Financial Times:

Although a chorus of cynics can be heard claiming this is Gore's way of capitalizing on hysteria, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that investing in clean energy and carbon trading schemes is a good idea with the payoff Gore is getting...

Now will his venture capitalists see any actual long term return on the investment (ROI) or just derail funding from solid ROI investments in conservation and U.S. efficiency?
