1. OSHA releases new Compliance Directive officially launching Recordkeeping NEP
OSHA has released a new Compliance Directive, which officially launches the Agency's National Emphasis Program on Injury and Illness Recordkeeping. The directive gives employers a "sneak peek" into the methods compliance officers will use to inspect the accuracy of occupational injury and illness records. Click to continue

2. OSHA publishes GHS/HazCom Proposed Rule
On Sept. 30, 2009, OSHA published the long-awaited Proposed Rule to modify the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) to conform with the United Nations' (UN) Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). Click to continue

3. Two construction standards top list of OSHA FY 2009 citations
OSHA has published data on its most frequently cited standards, as well as penalty amounts, for fiscal year 2009. Two construction standards (scaffolding and fall protection) continue to rank at the top, both in terms of being cited and in highest penalties. Click to continue
