Join Effort to Stop Global Warming
Stop Global Warming: "Why I Am Marching
This is just one of many important campaigns to support and get everyone
involved.
I have been truly blessed to have always worked in a profession protecting
others and the environment. I am always humbled by the EHS professionals I am
surrounded by who receive little recognition for their lifetime of environmental
achievements
Regardless of the pseudo science surrounding this issue, the reality is that
thousands die of air quality retailed deaths every year making all efforts to
protect air quality imperative to our long term survival.
Sadly most join these campaigns for the “warm fuzzy” feeling it gives them and
because it is “in style” to be “green”. Many lose interest and abandon their
commitment to protect others and the environment.
In the 60’s & 70’ baby boomers went “green” and then lost interest, bought 5,000
square foot homes out in the burbs and 5,000 lbs SUV’s to take them there.
We need to learn from our past that short lived “green” campaigns are
worthwhile, but long-term structured sustainable programs are the solution.
People need to make a lifetime commitment to protect others and the environment
for any real impact to happen.
However, I feel that any campaign that heightens public awareness and interest
is a worthwhile venture.
It is never too little or to late… just do something to contribute! Please.
