"WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush has signed a bill to reauthorize up to $16 million a year for grants programs to restore habitats in the Great Lakes region.
The legislation signed into law Thursday would authorize $80 million over five years to restore fish and wildlife habitats, provide money for fish and wildlife projects and upgrade reports on the area's ecosystem.
The money won't be spent unless included it's included in separate appropriations bills, but supporters said it would build momentum for a comprehensive $20 billion plan to restore the Great Lakes."
