Malibu toilets sewage hot spots?

A new storm drainage pipe is seen in Paradise Cove in Malibu, Calif. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006. Malibu's loyalty to its septic system continues to be the main suspect behind its fetid waters. County officials will begin testing the seawater over the next few months, and if DNA markings show it's not local raccoon droppings but human byproducts that are polluting the waters, they will move upstream and up the food chain. The county expects to spend as much as $1 million to sample and follow the creeks that run through some of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the Malibu area.
