EPA To Sponsor Free Webinar on Green School Practices for healthy environment for implementing a sustainable & comprehensive environmental health program

U.S. EPA - Attention area school districts, administrators, teachers and maintenance and environmental managers: EPA is sponsoring “Integrated School Health Tools for Districts,” a free informational webinar to be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. EST.

This webinar, which is open to the public, will discuss how your school or school district can create a healthy environment for students by implementing a sustainable and comprehensive environmental health program that addresses issues such as cleaning practices, mold, chemical management, ventilation, and pest control.

This webinar will also feature highlights, tips, and strategies from established state programs. You’ll also learn more about what resources are available to assist with establishing a school environmental health program.

This is a very timely presentation since state Departments of Education in the mid-Atlantic region is currently accepting applications for the U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School Recognition Program.

The information provided will benefit any school intending to apply for green ribbon recognition, as well as schools just starting their path to becoming a healthier environment for students and teachers.
