Corporate Safety Specialist Job Details
- Portray a positive change agent for the safety culture at
- Actively participate on (and quickly become the leader of) internal Safety Steering Committee
- Enhance, train and participate in and client safety programs
- Create and maintain standard work that enhances safety through project management
- Review, report and track project safety data per and client requirements
- Act in tandem with Risk Management regarding interactions with insurance companies, OSHA, Fed/State agencies, etc.
- Participate in, review and track injury and incident investigations
- Travel to project sites periodically for safety focus, audits, training
- Conduct safety orientation, certification and refresher training for members as needed (OSHA 500 trainer qualified)
- Conduct project safety audits and safety lessons learned reports
- Assist PS Leadership with qualification process of client opportunities
- Participate in engineering and design reviews; provide input
- Support applicable record keeping such as EMR, DART, etc.
- Communicate across all levels of the organization and with clients (small group setting and larger presentation format)
Required Qualifications:
- 15 years of Engineering, Industrial Plant or Construction experience
- 10 years safety specialist experience
- OSHA 500 qualified (can be a corporate trainer for OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 cert.)
- Experience with corporate programs for standard LOTO, hot work, fall protection and confined space
