Staying slim to stave off cancer

Maintaining a healthy weight, eating right and staying physically active can help deter several types of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. In the U.S., up to 20% of cancer deaths are related to excess weight.   American Cancer Society (9/27)
 
Study: Fruit consumption reduces cancer risk: Eating five or more servings of fruit a day significantly reduces the risk of colorectal cancer, according to a new study. People who eat more fruit also tend to exercise more, drink less alcohol and have healthier body weights, researchers say.
