WI: Kenosha Unified School District wins Governor's Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency
Kenosha Unified School District in Kenosha, WI has received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency given by Focus on Energy for the implementation of innovative energy efficiency projects within their school. With the help of Focus on Energy's Schools and Government Sector, part of Wisconsin's energy efficiency and renewable energy initiative, Kenosha School District made a number of energy efficiency improvements including the installation of high efficiency fluorescent lighting, upgrading boiler systems, chiller service, steam trap replacements and pc network energy management resulting in energy costs savings of over $411,000 annually. Kenosha School District was also eligible for financial incentives from Focus on Energy for installing these and other qualifying energy efficiency measures.
