Networks Can Be 1000 Times More Energy Efficient

"Bell Labs believes that data networks can be more efficient and has launched a consortium which aims to develop technology that uses only a thousandth of current network energy requirements by 2015.

The Green Touch initiative is going to focus in particular on wireless, seeking to reduce wasted energy in signal broadcasts. Read more of this story at Slashdot.
