How air and water pollution plague Indian cities causing over half a million deaths

Outdoor air pollution caused over half a million premature deaths in India in 2010 – a huge jump from the 100,000 deaths estimated in 2000. Living near one such drain is associated with chronic stomach disorders, hepatitis A and cancers of the bladder, kidneys, lung, skin, colon and liver.
