Paint it Green

Borrowing from military technology that uses dense coatings to reflect solar and radar waves on tanks and planes, Textured Coatings of America, a Florida firm, has adapted the coatings as a replacement for house paint. The treatment can reduce the surface temperature of a home by up to 40 degrees. That keeps the interior cooler, reduces color fading and slows heat-induced deterioration of wood siding.
