Coal is back; so are concerns over pollution

Given that the United States has the largest known coal reserves in the world, coal is almost certain to play a significant role in future energy production. More than half the electricity produced in the U.S. comes from coal. But coal is also a major contributor to air pollution. While experts say technology could clean up the pollution, the power industry says such measures would be too expensive.
