I think more about the quality not, quantity of readers.
If I wanted a few 1mil idiots reading my posts... I would have used myspace.com
Use email to post (if your not already) to your blog.... that way you waste no time posting.
I also fell in love with picasa webalbums http://picasaweb.google.com to share trips and fun with family.
