House passes bill aimed at animal activists

A recent bill passed by the House stiffens the penalties against animal rights activists who threaten or interfere with scientists or companies who are conducting animal testing. Proponents of the bill, which is currently awaiting presidential approval, applaud the legislation extension of jurisdiction into third-party organizations, while its opponents are concerned that the bill may constitute an infringement on advocates' constitutional rights.
