Rubber recycler turns garbage into power

"Our business reduces our country's dependence on fossil fuels, makes the landscape more beautiful, and eliminates environmental and health hazards."

The company grinds about 10,000 used tires every day into thin 2-square-inch rubber chips about half an inch thick. The rubber is then added to wood chips used by the Genesee Power Plant, northeast of Flint, to generate enough electricity for about 25,000 homes and businesses.
