Professor claims obesity could be caused by female sex hormones used to make plastic bottles

The chemical is essentially a female sex hormone similar to estrogen. Plastic companies have long used it to make rigid, clear containers, many of which are used for food.

"This is one of the highest-volume produced chemicals in the world. It’s in everybody’s bodies, and it’s a very potent sex hormone," he said. "It’s just nuts that it’s being used the way it is."
