Steven Chu and Jim Prentice, energy secretaries of the United States and Canada, likewise showed an action plan which the two countries may jointly execute in line with their green energy policies.
The plan involves three projects: collaboration on carbon capture and storage, development of a more efficient electricity grid based on renewable generation and drafting of a roadmap for clean energy research, development and deployment.
Both countries' ministers of energy presented the progress report on the clean energy dialogue to the heads of state on Wednesday. The United States and Canada also joined the international community on climate change mitigation, particularly through involvement with the pre-Copenhagen climate conference preparations.
