A lot of energy posts.... it's that time of the month.

Sorry, there is going to be a flood of energy posts this month as President Obama has Declared October National Energy Awareness Month If our nation wants positive and prosperous change, there is no doubt in my mind that we can lead the world out of our self induced economic and environmental crisis with strong renewable energy, environmental initiatives and innovation.

The current energy recovery and regulatory plans on the table look like 'jimmy carter 2.0' destine for being trumped by greed bureaucracy, short term and long term failure. After three decades of failed energy and environmental programs this can no longer be 'a game plan'... it is our nations life line.

Like many from the House who read this blog, Hopefully our president (yes I know your busy) will read my energy posts and call me to discuss real energy and environmental change in our world. Otherwise he and Dr. Chu are welcome with all to just read up and add to their game plans.

Quotes from President Obama:
A more prosperous future for our Nation's economy means making investments in energy efficiency and clean energy today. Well-funded energy research and development will not only help protect our environment and support our communities, but it will also address concerns of global competitiveness and national security. Innovation in energy technology will decrease our oil use, strengthen our economy, and reduce the dangerous pollution that causes climate change.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim October 2009 as National Energy Awareness Month. I call upon the people of the United States to mark this month by making clean energy choices that can both rebuild our economy and make it more sustainable. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this second day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fourth. - BARACK OBAMA

I could never argue with his words or vision of these ideals they are beautiful and I believe genuine.
However, words are just that and do not change the path we are making to repeat the same failed programs and policies that derailed our nation from energy and economic independence for the last three decades.

For it is not the journey that is different, it is the path we choose that makes it different.

- Happy Energy Month, Haase
