Winners of America's Greenest Campus

Two schools showed the greatest dedication to energy conservation among students, alumni, faculty and staff to reduce their carbon footprints in the America's Greenest Campus contest. Those schools--Rio Salado College of Tempe, Arizona, and University of Maryland at College Park (UM)--are now each America's Greenest Campus. Congratulations to these schools, and everyone who helped make America's Greenest Campus the largest contest ever of its kind.

All together, over 460 schools and 20,000 campus community members participated in the contest, reducing nearly 19 million pounds of CO2 from the environment, saving 28 million gallons of water and conserving 4.5 million kilowatts of electricity.
