Buried in the latest GFK poll is a stunning stat. Eight percent of respondents said they had lost a job because of the economy, 18% said a member of their family had. Then they were asked, outside of your family, has someone you know lost a job. 59% said yes. The figures weren't added together but when they are, it comes out to 85% of Americans knowing some one - or being someone - who has lost a job because of the economy.
