Walker signs bills he says will help protect children - JSOnline

...Gov. Scott Walker signed seven bills that he said would help protect children.

The bills included one that will require all school employees including aides and custodians to report suspected child abuse to authorities. Previously, only school teachers, administrators, and counselors were required by law to report suspected abuse.

Walker also signed:

A bill to allow state regulators to revoke the license of teachers who are caught viewing pornography on school computers.

A bill to allow judges to tack on up to five more years in prison for paid child-care providers convicted of sexually abusing or physically harming a child.

A bill to allow schools to refuse to hire felons regardless of whether their felony is substantially related to children or their work at the school....
