A bill designed to kick-start an iron mine in far northwestern Wisconsin could result in several changes for the state DNR, leading to higher expenses and lower revenue. The legislation stems from Gogebic Taconite's plans for an iron mine in the Penokee Hills just south of Lake Superior.
