The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will present a live webcast titled Selecting and Evaluating New and Underused Energy Technologies on Thursday, April 5, 2012. The webcast will take place from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The session will benefit federal energy managers and other professionals interested in using an online tool called the Technology Deployment Matrix to select clean energy technologies to deploy at agency facilities. The tool is designed to help energy managers assess the potential benefits of a wide range of technologies, execute market-based deployment strategies, and develop performance metrics to validate project effectiveness and justify funding.
Experts Steven A. Parker of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Michael A. Holda of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Shawn Monique Herrera of DOE's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) will present information to maximize your technology impact by effectively using the Technology Deployment Matrix.
Specifically, the training will cover:
- Finding, selecting, and evaluating proven technologies in lighting, HVAC, water heating, building envelope, and power management.
- Combining the best energy efficiency measures with new top-performing technologies.
- Deploying clean energy technologies using project funding options like energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs), utility energy service contracts (UESCs) and federal on-site renewable energy power purchase agreements (PPAs).
- Reviewing examples of highly successful projects to find the most effective technologies for a particular application.
