Gulf Spill - The delusional of "who pays" and "who is responsible"

It is interesting that the entire planet is playing the blame game on the oil spill.
Selling millions of newspapers, receiving 1,000's of hours of coverage on TV and internet.
And even at the Grist and hugger... their sites are seeing massive traffic playing the blame game:

Nice graphic and spin. But 'we' are to blame.

'We' means me...
We buy oil. We need oil to live at the current level of 'comfort' we desire.
We have made a conscious choice since the 'peak oil' warnings of the 70's to get oil at any and all costs.

If someone is seeking some 'ass to kick' for starting this spill... you can do 'the ass kicking circle jerk' the next time you stop at the pump to fillup.

It is our collective fault.
And if 'we' are being honest with ourselves or simply "observant to the obvious" the following statement is inarguable:

As long as we buy foreign oil (and we will until the last well is dry) BP is at no risk of losing money. In fact BP Chief Tony Hayward says the Gulf spill might help the BP and the oil industry to make increased profits of up to 20% by 2015, which would mean record profits for the British oil maker.

And regardless if 'by holding them accountable'  means fines, raising oil prices, taxes, (anyway media wants to spin this) we will footing the bill.

Anyone who tells you different,is either oblivious of the obvious or not being honest.
