Revolution Foods provides healthy, fresh, affordable meals to school districts in over 20 cities across the United States. Founded by Kristin Richmond and her U.C. Berkeley classmate Kirsten Tobey, the company now boasts 770 employees. As the only company of its kind, Revolution Foods serves large school systems and underserved schools as well as grocery stores. A Colorado partner school reported a 17% spike in test scores since implementing Revolution Food’s hot meal program. The company is headquartered in inner city Oakland and hires primarily from underserved areas via partnerships with local job development partners across the country. Revolution Foods has dished out over 30 million affordable meals to public school students since 2006. http://revfoods.com Source: http://www.sustainablepractices.info
